My Background and Story

My path to becoming a therapist comes from navigating demanding seasons of life, including high-pressure work, transitions into marriage and parenthood, and the shifts that come with midlife. Along the way, I found myself increasingly drawn to questions of identity, meaning, and emotional wellbeing, both in my own life and in the lives of those around me. These experiences inform my work today, especially when supporting clients who carry high expectations, strive for excellence, or are working to break intergenerational patterns while honoring the sacrifices of the generations before them.

I bring a strong foundation of professional and academic experience. Practicing law in government and private sectors in Los Angeles gave me firsthand insight into the pressures, ambition, and drive that often accompany high-achieving careers. This professional background shaped the analytical, structured, and thoughtful approach I bring to therapy, balancing deep insight with practical guidance. I later earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, pursuing a path that aligned with my values and a desire to support others in creating meaningful change.

Drawing from my lived experience as a first-born daughter of Korean immigrants, a former attorney, a pastor’s kid, a wife, and a working mother of two, I offer a warm, emotionally safe space grounded in steadiness, empathy, and respect for complexity. Here, clients can explore change, align their actions with their values, and move toward authenticity, deeper connection, and personal fulfillment.

Clients often describe me as warm, direct, and deeply engaged. I care about emotional depth, but I also value clarity, structure, and practical guidance. I will sit with you, reflect with you, and gently challenge the patterns that no longer serve you—always with care, curiosity, and respect.

I bring an understanding of cultural, relational, and spiritual influences to therapy, holding space for the full context of your life while helping you develop insight, coping strategies, and meaningful growth.
