I offer a style that is warm, collaborative, and deeply engaged—gentle but direct, thoughtful yet practical. Therapy helps you understand your inner world while also giving you tools you can use in everyday life.
Many clients start therapy looking for strategies to feel better. Tools can be helpful in the moment, but lasting change comes from understanding the deeper patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. In our work together, we balance practical strategies with deeper insight so you can feel grounded, resilient, and intentional.
Warm, directive, and insight-oriented care
I understand how cultural narratives, family expectations, and intergenerational patterns shape who we are and how we relate. As a second-generation Korean American, I have a focus on supporting clients navigating bicultural identity, emotional holding, achievement pressure, and the quiet burdens passed across generations. I also work with clients from all backgrounds, taking my cues from you rather than making assumptions.
By attending to these cultural and relational influences, therapy provides space both to stabilize when life feels overwhelming and to explore the deeper patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. This approach allows change to take root not just in how you cope, but in how you live and relate to others.
Culturally responsive
My Christian background shapes the way I understand healing, compassion, and the importance of relationship. For clients who find value in integrating faith or spirituality into therapy, I can thoughtfully hold those themes with you.
Many of my clients do not identify with a specific faith tradition, or are re-evaluating their relationship with religion altogether. I fully respect wherever you are on that spectrum. I never impose spiritual or religious perspectives, and I will not ask you to hold beliefs you don’t identify with. You set the tone for whether and how faith becomes part of our work.
Faith-informed, client-led
Insight emerges when we understand how past experiences, cultural messages, and attachment patterns shape how we show up today. I help you make sense of your story so you can move through the world with more clarity, stability, and confidence.
Relational and grounded in your story
A collaborative path forward
We’ll start by clarifying your goals and what brought you to therapy. I provide structure while adapting to your pace, strengths, and values. Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, attuned, and deeply supportive so you can do the work that matters most.
